How do I access CCDBG-required training in NJCCIS?

CCDBG-required trainings, including Health & Safety, Child Growth and Development, Mandated Reporting, and Pediatric First Aid & CPR, can be found through the NJ Workforce Registry in NJCCIS.

Important: Program directors and administrators may not log in to staff members’ NJCCIS accounts to register them for trainings. Each staff member must log in to their own account and complete their own training registration.

Option 1: Self-Paced Virtual Trainings

To access self-paced trainings, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your NJCCIS account.
  2. Click the Registry tab in the blue banner.
  3. Locate the CCDBG Required Trainings section.
  4. Select the available training you wish to complete.

The Health & Safety Basics and Mandated Reporter/Child Abuse and Neglect Training (10 hours) is available in both English and Spanish. These self-paced, virtual trainings are provided by Grow NJ Kids Training Services.

Option 2: Live Virtual Trainings

If you prefer instructor-led, live virtual training, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your NJCCIS account.
  2. Click the Registry tab in the blue banner.
  3. Select Find Professional Development & Training Classes.
  4. Under Type, open the drop-down menu and select CCDBG Topic.
  5. Choose the training topic you need.
  6. Review the available training sessions and register for your preferred offering.

Important Reminder: Pediatric First Aid & CPR

To meet CCDBG requirements, staff must complete an in-person skills session for Pediatric First Aid & CPR. Online-only Pediatric First Aid & CPR training does not meet CCDBG requirements. Staff must complete the required hands-on skills component to satisfy this training requirement.

Do providers get paid for closure days?

Providers are given 22 days annually that they can use for closures. Providers are advised to reserve some days for unexpected closures in the event of an emergency or inclement weather. Closure days can only be paid at a maximum of five days in one payment cycle in the Electronic Payment Processing Information Control (EPPIC) system.  Providers must submit their scheduled closure calendar in advance to your CCR&R; they should report any emergency closures immediately.

How does ECC work?

Changes are being made to the e-Child Care payment and attendance tracking systems. These updates are designed to simplify payment processing, improve attendance tracking, and modernize the tools providers use every day.

Currently, providers are required to record attendance-related information in the NJ CCAP Attendance Calendar through NJCCIS, including child absences, program closure days, holidays, and vacation days. Accurate attendance reporting is necessary to ensure providers receive correct and timely subsidy payments.

What is e-Child Care?

e-Child Care (ECC) is the electronic attendance and payment system used for the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). It tracks when children receiving child care subsidies are checked in and out of care, and those attendance records are used to determine provider payments.
