How to Become State-Registered

FAMILY CHILD CARE REGISTRATION (FCC) INFORMATION

Maximum of five (5) enrolled children at a given time.

To begin the process:  Identify a substitute provider who is at least 18 years of age. This person will need to complete the same training coursework as the Family Child Care Provider and should be available for emergency purposes once your business is operational.

As a family child care provider, you are considered a small business owner, and we recommend that you apply for an Employer Identification Number (EIN). Parents may request documentation to show the total amount paid for child care services when filing taxes, and you will need to share with them your EIN number or your social security number.  Are you interested in an Employer Identification Number? 1. Go to the Applications tab
  2. Choose FCC New Application
  3. Then on the right-hand side you will see Wizard View and Flat View — please choose Flat View to start the application.

Once your application is received, we will reach out to provide you with next steps and more information. All the necessary paperwork along with the Manual Requirements for Family Child Care will be mailed out to you prior to orientation.
